Controls?

Was very excited to see this available for the iPhone but haven’t been able to figure out the controls so far. Unless I’ve somehow missed it there doesn’t seem to be any controls instructions listed anywhere in the game or the App store description. Just figured out by chance that the fire button must be held to run so surely this should say fire/run on the button for a start? Can you do a running jump cos I can’t figure out how to do this if it’s possible? Apart from lack of control descriptions this seems pretty cool so far.

You can do the running jump by holding down fire and running. But I agree on the controls, they are a bit…. well… lacking along with instructions. Took me a couple of minutes to figure out ‘Fire’ + ‘Joystick’ in either direction = Run . Then you add trying to jump to that and it gets a bit complicated. Maybe a sliding/sensitivity to the joystick to engage the run would be in order.

I must admit I was looking forward to this release, especially being a fan of the original. But I must say I am dissapointed with this lackluster port… The failings of this port are many, but what strikes me as being the worst are the controls. A game like this requires an exceptional control method for it to be fun & enjoyable, perhaps you can address this in a future update? As it stands with this control method the game is frankly unplayable.
Also the screen layout is very obtrusive and unwieldy, it also makes it very unprofessional looking (it wasn’t there in the original game, why here?) Perhaps making the onscreen butons more opaque would help this?
What is good are the graphics, you have maintained the originals fluid & smooth feel & it does bring back fond memories of the original. I think with a little more care and attention this could be a great port & not a pale immatation of the Flashback we all know and love.
I hope this doesn’t come across as being too harsh a criticism, but being a fan (like many others like me) I would just like to see this title treated with the respect it truly desires..

I’ll be checking in daily for an update to the control scheme and will download the game immediately as soon as it’s ready! Thank you for putting forth the effort; this game is a gem.

Another World next perhaps? Those are the only two games I need on my iPhone.

Read & learn, This is the general consensus. How could you do this to such a revered title, shame on you… Why release this if it isn’t ready!

Is there a bug in level 2 ??

big problem on the second screen where u have to jump from the middle platform to the top platform with a running jump.

it isnt possible, tried 1000 times.
watched a youtube video and it seems that in the orginal flashback the top platform is a little bit lower,

nobody else had this problem ??
